This book is a collection of essays embodying the dynamics and biography of individual consciousness which is constantly evolving. The title of this book “Wisdom and Vibration of Silence” stems out of the thought and realization that our internal Silence is the epicenter of individual consciousness and synthesizer of Wisdom. Throughout this collection of essays, the word “Man” has invariably been used to represent an individual; includes both man and woman.
Humbling experiences of life silently teach us that the only “Constant” in our universe is “Change”. We are an integral part of universe which has its own rhythm. Understanding the rhythm of universe simply implies harmonizing our life with Mother Nature. Silence of our inner and deeper consciousness constantly eludes us to the utter simplicity of universal wisdom.
I have lived the first 25 years of my life in India until 1958 and subsequently in USA ever since. My wife Usha also lived in India for the first 25 years, married me in 1969 and emigrated to USA same year to join me. Our three boys Deepak, Vikas and Sagar are born and brought up in USA. This mix of living experience in two culturally diverse countries and continents naturally reflects in my psyche and writing. Exposure to the two diverse cultures and the numerous variations within each have influenced, nourished and enriched our family’s consciousness for which we feel extremely grateful. It enables us to capture and enjoy the spirit of life in its various shades almost every day.
While still a bachelor in 1963, I took a 6-month leave of absence from my employer, Tee-Pak in Danville, IL., to travel around the world. I bought a Pan-Am around-the-world ticket from Chicago to Chicago routing my travel through several countries to satisfy a long cherished dream of personally observing different countries and cultures. Eating and enjoying various ethnic foods has always been my passion. Traveling through 18 countries on a shoe-string budget has been one of my life’s most enjoyable, educative and enlightening experience.
I express my gratitude to each and every individual with whom I have interacted with as I have journeyed through life. Each individual brought forth a different dimension of life to observe and learn from. The cumulative influence of all of these interactions continues to be the enriching enhancement of my life consciousness. Daily experiences in life continuously teach us “What life is” and prompt the wisdom “What life should be”. Ultimately each one of us is an integral part of a grapevine of relationships and friendships.
A biography of individual consciousness may have neither a beginning nor an end. No word from any language can track its rhythm because it is not of the mind. We make desperate and futile efforts to use words from a language to comprehend it. Only the wisdom and vibration of our inner Silence may sense individual consciousness.
My wife Usha and sons Deepak, Vikas, and Sagar have empowered me in their own genuine, individual, and affectionate ways to present this edition of “Wisdom and Vibration of Silence”.
